Beneficiaries

Applications for grants are made in writing from self-identified and thereafter confirmed applicants, and every application is fully examined and supported by a letter from a sponsor, known to us, confirming the identity of the beneficiary, personal circumstances, and the expressed need. Upon disbursement of funds by the Foundation, the sponsor is responsible for providing ongoing oversight to guarantee that the funds are being distributed to the intended beneficiary and used expressly in accordance with the grant request.

In 2008, $6,700 in tuition aid was provided to families with children in Catholic elementary and high schools including St. Thomas More School in San Francisco.

More than $7,000 in aid went to persons in need in the US at Thanksgiving.

			Six-year-old Rafat needs treatment for congenital hearing loss.

			Confined to a wheelchair since the first year of his life, nine-year-old Jawad suffers from a neurological disorder.

			Youngsters with disabilities will benefit from special education programs provided by day schools.

			Educators work with families to design programs for children with special needs.

			Clothing, health care items, and school supplies reach the Philippines following the devastating flood of 2009.

			A family with five children was given help launching a new business making baptism garments in Bethlehem in 2009.

			A monetary donation helps procure treatment for a young burn victim in Bethlehem in 2010.

			Sister Adriana received a donation for the school for children with special needs at Our Lady of Peace Center in Amman in 2010.

			A young man in Beit Sahour is being helped with the development his olive wood Christmas ornament business in 2010.
